case saver
#1
Hey guys, If I go to a 17 tooth front sprocket will the chain hit the case saver thingie that came stock on the bike. If so what is the stock tooth size on the rear as i guess i will just get a smaller sprocket for the rear then. And does anyone make a steel sprocket for the rear other than stock size? Thanks

Not sure about the 17t clearance, think you have to do some grinding.
Stock rear sprocket is 40t, have never seen steel aftermarket but sure you can have one made, maybe Sidewinder..$$$$
Have you considered 22" rear tires to gear you up?

I have a 17T that I run once in a while, I had to use a die grinder with a cutting bit to shave a little off the inside of the case saver, just a little and its not enough to effect its purpose when putting a 16 or 15 on. hell, I even have a 14 I put on sometimes.
you could even use a round file, if you don't have a die grinder or dremel.
whatver you do, don't run without the case saver, some people have and it can be catastrophic.
