trickiest part that bites the most people and sometimes results in damage by the installer is not lining up the rack gear correctly when putting the cover back on - if its not straight and the cover doesn't easily slide on, forcing it will tear up teeth. you'll see when you get it off, just be gentle in reassmebly and make sure its lined up right and the rest is cakewalk.
also you don't have to puul the coolant hoses - just remove the 3 water pump cover screws and tie the cover up outa the way. make sure you line up the water pump gear when putitng the cover back on, havig the pump cover off allows you to turn the shaft for gear alignment. bottom screw of the cover is the coolant drain, pull it first.

yes in one aspect. it the same in that it uses metals and fibers staggered in a basket with pressure plate last, held together with 6 bolts/springs. the only thing different is the position of the last fiber - it goes in its own set of notches in the basket, not in the main notches with all the others. this serves as a wear limit so that once the fibers are gone, you don't continue to ruin the metals.
if you don't already have stiffer springs, get them now. stock springs are the #1 cause of premature clutch wear on a all DS's that are not bone stock. just the addition of pipe and cdi warant the need for stiffer springs. weak springs and 20 paddle haulers killed my clutch in two rides.
