Tire Choice...
#1
I know this has been debated before...but here goes.
I'm currently using 22" Maxxis Sur Traks (Mud Tire) on Douglas .190s and they don't seem to have much thread left on them. I find they hook up a lot in turns, but not enough when going straight(probably due to wear).
I'm looking for the perfect tire for my conditions. I ride in hard-pack dirt most of the time, some mud and water(I try to stay away) and a lot of snow too. Snow performance is important, I don't need to be able to stand a wheelie in 5 inches of wet snow, but I don't want to be constantly spinning at low throttle and getting stuck all the time.
I want a tire that slides decently in dirt but hooks up great when I want to lift a wheelie or drag. And very important is longevity and price...
I got enough things to fix or replace already, that I don't need to break the bank anymore than it already is...
Is there such a tire that could do all of this for me? Or would I need to buy seperate tires for the winter .
Thanks in advance.

i think your asking a lil too much out of one tire, i'd suggest getting a different set for winter,
for you i'd say pure sport bandit, but i can't say this from experience, just from the research i've done, they'll be the next tires i'll buy,
and as for snow, maybe realtor, they do good aslong and you slowly roll the throttle, but are only actually 21" tall, which makes the back end drag in deep causing you to get stuck, i'm thinking of tryin 23" Mudlites for next winter but i'm not sure if'll they'll hit the plastic if i somehow bottom out the suspension,

What would you think about running Realtors year round?? Do they wear quick??
Or does anyone have a good suggestion for a winter tire that works great in the summer...

i would highly suggest NOT running realtors year round, when i bought my ds used it had realtors on it and i rode it for bout a month here and there was noticable wear on them, altho it was very dry here for that month, if it were me i'd buy some bandits for all year round and realtors for just winter,
