Hmm, could you explain this too me...I thought the box was supposed to take away the rev limiter. Im asking this, because I just ordered this box. How does it compare to the other cdi's, do you know? Just curious to know that im not forking out money for something i shouldn't have. Also, if you dont mind..how much did you give for it?

thanx

Depending on were you purchased the Vortex from, they will program it to YOUR NEEDS.

If you don't want the limiter, tell them and they will remove it.

If you want the limiter at 10,000 or what ever, you tell them and they will program it at the limit that you want.

If you want a super high curve for alcohol, tell them and they will program it for you.

This CDI box is completely programable. It is up to the place that you purchased it to program it for you.

I think we were looking for clarification on how the box comes programmed. The (ahem) distributor will program them, but I was kind of curious to find out what they came with. Perhaps they have not all been the same from Australia. I guess its a good thing they can be re-programmed!

So they CAN be reprogramed...sweet. Where would one go to do that? And what do you all think would be a good place to set the limiter?

I ask this, cuz my wife just bought me some goodies for the bike for fathers day and she was not asked for a preference on the vortex box.

Personally, I would like the Rev Limit set at around 9300 which would suit my motor mods. Wherever you purchased them should be able to send them back to the USA distributor for reprogramming. This holds true with everybody I know that sells them.

What is the price? I just got a RWR cdi 2 weeks ago and do not like having the limiter. I dirt drag and when I shift at 7500 it revs to 9500 no matter how fast I shift. The 8200 or so would be perfect. Thinking very seriously about selling the RWR!

My numbers are from richard@vortexcdi.com

As I said in the opening of this post, it can be tuned to your hearts content from stateside folks.

I received the same sheet of paper and inquired about the actual rev limits, since nobody had specifics.

I also am dying to see the dyno curves if I get them.

I personnaly would have liked positions 8, 9, and 0 set with the performance map and rev limits of 8,500, 9,500 and 10,500 respectively before it was sent to me.

I love my vortex.

Yes, those numbers would be very good. I'd like to see them sent out that way from Aus.
