Default DS650 shock settings.

Can anyone offer advice on setting up the shocks and a DS? I am stuck with the stock shocks until I can afford Elkas. Would rather wait and get good shocks than blow money on a pair I will want to replace within a year. I think the word I am looking for is 'sag', it seems like the front shocks are already compressed half way without me on the bike, but if I adjust the springs tighter it seems 'harsh' and stiff. Any help would be very much appriciated.

yeah, they come with too much sag from the factory. it seems tight when you crank them up, but after riding a while you realize that they really are still plenty plush and soak up everything pretty well. I've got mine really tight compared to the stock setting, and I can still bottom them out hitting deep ruts at high speed.
