My needle is down all the way. The leanest it can go. I just don't understand!! It should be leaner than hell!!! I have holes drilled in the airbox with a K&N filter and DJ jet kit and the 165 main!! The electrode is no color and the base is black..... It runs GREAT but I just felt that if I jetted it so it's not rich that it would run better...... the ONLY, ONLY thing I can think of is: Would the need for a valve adjustment cause this? The clearences havent been checked for about a year but like I said it runs great. Would this cause my motor to run rich? I appreciate the help and for you guys putting up with all my questions but this one has me scratchin my head a bit....

Pushin,

Make sure your choke is pushed all the way in. Mine used to get stuck, and I had to push really hard to get it all the way in. ALso it is really hard to get an accurate reading from pump gas. first you should rise your needle all the way up, then you should jet up till your quad falls on its face at top Rpm's then jett back down a size. This will get your main jet pretty close, then you can start fine tuning with your needle positions.

This is what I used to do, when I had my quad relatively stock, and my quad always ran better than it was supposed to. I dynoed 45hp with a DynoJet 195(needle on the second clip down), KN carbmount filter and a STOCK endcap! for refernce that was on parr that day with a trinity 686,and many DS Stage 2's.

Good luck.

Bigger.

P.S. Meaner ,,,, CONGRATS on the BOY!!!!

Thanks for the concern(you to meaner).

I take FULL responsibility if my wife gets hurt, and I didn't like to see her on the ground like that, so instead of selling her quad, I am going to make it my mission to teach her how to be a better rider, and outfit her with all the nessassary equipment, both for her,and her V-force.

Biggerisbetter,

I don't want to jet up man!! You have to remember I'm STILL rich RIGHT NOW with the 165 main and needle all the way down. Jetting up would be point less because I'm still rich with this set up...... And yes my choke is pushed in all the way. Should I just drill some more holes in the airbox? I hope the MBRP exhaust that I have isn't restrictive enough to cause this.... Like I said it runs really good but if I can get it so it isn't running rich I can get it to run better. What should I do: get some smaller main jets or cut a few more holes in the airbox lid? Anything other than that?

If you positive you RICH, then you need to install about 10 1 inch uni vents in your air box(around the sides), and if your STILL rich, then jet down to a 160.

good luck.

Thanks Bigger,

Can I just drill some more holes in the airbox lid? I'm not sure that I want to put holes in the airbox itself but hey, if it will help I will....
