Well with the telephonic help of bigger, I made it through my first carb jetting. WOW was it scary at first! Once all apart, it wasn't that bad at all. I guess it is just like learning to walk..that first step is a killer. After doing it myself, I would encourage all to do it as opposed to taking it to someone else (like I WAS going to do).

I drilled the two holes out with a 1/8 " drill bit, and cut the spring while I was in the carb. Can't tell you for sure if it made a difference for I haven't rode it yet. However just hitting the gas from idle seems to be snappier! Once I get the endcap on and the vortex cdi box mounted I will update and let you all know how she runs.

Once again want to say THANX to bigger for his help and patients as I bugged him on the phone this weekend!

I can't wait to get the rest of the goodies on. Might not be as fast as some of you all, but im drinking my milk

I'm happy for you. Bigger has always seemed like a gentleman. My first jetting experience was on a Raptor (what a PAIN!). Good luck.

Kenny,

Glad to see your "pumped" about the DS engine!! I still get pumped about my quad when more and more potential is uncovered.

Jetting the Stock carb is a great starting point, and after you get your endcap, you can then "fine" tune your carb to your exact specification, but you should be really close right now.

Mr.meaner,

My wife has had 2 spills in the last 2 weeks on her V-force. She was'nt hurt but just alittle sore(yes her new helmet, came in handy) She has more of an idea now,of how you have to respect these things, or you can get hurt, and unfortunatly she like most of us had to learn this lesson the hard way, but I think she will be a much better rider because of it.

Well guys, speaking of carb tuning and stuff. I'm sure all of you read my thread about jetting and lots of people helped a lot!!! But anyway, I have the 165 dyno-jet main jet and I'm STILL RUNNING RICH!!!!

Like I said I have the DJ 165 main with the needle all the down. this set up is still leaner than STOCK but I'm still rich.... The electrode is no longer tan but no color, but the base of the plug is still black!!! Should I go buy a 155 and 150 main jet and try it? I have no clue why it would be still rich..... And I even have 5 small holes drilled in the airbox!! So what should I do? Buy some smaller mains and try it? I'm sorry about this I know I should have posted this in my thread but can someone help again. Thanks.

What position is the clip on for the needle? seems there would be no way you could be rich still.Im runnin a dynojet 170 main and i think 2-3 from top on clip and it seems good.My mods consist of uni filter , airbox cover on, and my own modded endcap - 3 inch bore

Kyle,

Yeah, i'm very pumped. My bike is still out in the garage waiting patiently for the last two parts to get put on before she can be put back together. Im really pumped because the bike ran when i got done..LOL... Third crank and she fired up. WOW.

The bike feels like it is snappier, but I am dying to see what it is like actually driving it with the cap and new cdi box on.

Pushinthelimit,

Have you checked the chart that was put together on this forum for jetting with certain mods and elevation? I dont remember the link, but i know where to get it.
