I'll tell you all what though, dont put that tire slime crap in your tires.... I put it in mine after I had to plug my tire, and now i cant open the bike up in 5th gear for it vibrates so stinkin bad.

I have also owned sur-traks, great durable tire I agree, but the rubber is so hard they get no traction at all on rock surfaces, especially if there is a little moss growing.
The all-traks are awesome, little softer than the sur-traks.

Tire pressures are super important - when I ride soft sandy dirt at the Badlands, IN for example, I have to drop my ohtsus to 4psi fo superior traction, anything over 5psi feels like slicks, but when I get on real hardpack the traction is way too much and you can roll it off the rim sliding.

Hightower,

your saying I might be losing traction on hard pack because the tires are so hard...]

I know they do ROOST a lot even on hard packed dirt...I've never tried anything else on my DS...

Running 5 PSI on the rear.

So losing some pressure will give me more traction?

You should 'experiment' with tire pressure, less pressure is often more traction, although you then start to run the risk of the tire coming off the rim, which just isn't much fun at high speed.

The eternal question...how low can i go?

And will less pressure wear the tires faster?

Its a trade off and I do believe that they rule for traction. The only tire I have found to come close are the dunlops off a Raptor. They dont wear as soon.
