Quest winch mounting

My dad is getting a winch for his Quest 500 and I was wondering how hard the mounting was. Its a Warn 2500, do you actually need the mounting plate for Bomb for it? Thanks guys

Quest winch mounting

I put a 1500 superwinch on my wifes and used 2 pcs of flat stock. Shes on her 2nd cable and the mount hasnt moved yet. Good Luck
