sprocket nut size

Default sprocket nut size

i am going to change the counter sprocket on my quad. a search said that i needed: "30mm socket and a big wrench" is this correct?

Yes, 30mm and I would suggest an air impact wrench to get it off. (The bolt is the same size as your swing-arm bolt just above your foot pegs!) Rear axel nut is 36mm if you are buying sockets you may want to pick one of those up as well so you can change your rear gears too.

Make sure you fold the tab back up against the nut on the counter-sprocket tab/lock washer when you are done.

thanks for the info, i think i am opening a can of worms here, i didn't want to make any mods.

I think we have all said that at one time.

(I have two-DS's and one Raptor apart in my garage right now! One DS - neighbor/buddy - going with high compression piston, cams, port work. Mine - new valve springs. Wife's Raptor 686 + exhaust + air filter - boy is she going to be supprised at the power difference!)

You better leave this site and never come back if you don't want to do any mods!
