When the DS650 first came out it had a dry weight of 460 pounds. For 2004 It's 20 pounds lighter. But it is 470 pounds Dry.

Buy lightening it up. It some how it gained 10 pounds.

It just don't add up.

standard DS dry weight is probably around 490, they under estimated it's weight back in 1999?

how do they underestimate weight?
PUT IT ON A SCALE...READ IT....RIGHT IT DOWN...
i dont understand how these companies miscalculate the weights of their vehicles.

ATV Action weighs all the bikes for their articles - even put a scale under each wheel to calculate weight bias. even they said '01 standard was 460 dry. they also said baja was 490 dry. somewhere, somebody got screwed up between the standard and the baja, and subtracted 20 from the 490. an article in Dirtwheels a few months ago talked of the goal Bomb set for the new '04 DS to lose 30 lbs. to reach a weight of 430.
Somebody at Bomb is just on Crack. Like all that marketing for 2 years that kept saying the baja has beadlock rims, when Bomb has never ever sold a bike with beadlock rims. I sent them 6 e-mails for 6 months straight before it finally was removed from their site!

The 2004 standard DS650 should weigh in at a sporty 440 lbs Dry.

lol... I'm kinda french...but not AS french as those Quebec morons (sorry, but they come visit around here all summer...and none of them can drive a car properly...)...Quebec is where Bombardier was founded and is located..That is also where they manufacture the beloved DS...

I speak english as good as french...so it's all good
