I was actually suprised to see the raptor win the shootout. It seems that with dirtwheels the newest quad is always the best, I was really expecting the win to go to the v-force. Personally I don't give a damn what the magazines say, I say pick what quad feels best for you.

a couple of my riding buddies have raptors, they ride my ds and say nice machine but want there raptors back, i ride there raptors and want my ds back it is all about what you like to ride, either one is better than most at everything, except that old honda. if you want a big bore and some have no choice. guys like bigslim just don't fit on a honda he has rode my sons once and it looks funny he was just to big knees at the bars. put him on the ds and he is becoming a pretty good rider wheelies jumps and about everything. and as far as heavy goes, big slim has lifted his around pretty good, maybe it is only guys that don't muscle stuff around that have the weight problem. my wife who goes pretty good size at 135-140 only has a problem if she gets stuck in wet sand but then two men would also.

I agree with RaptorridrTX, and REALLY don't have a problem with who won what. The only problem that I have with this entire article is the thinking one thing and saying another. How can the DS perform the best and then pick something that didn't perform the best.

ODD......

I just wish that they would test them based on what they are made for. If I wanted to know which one is for trail riding, I would expect them to test trail machines. I suppose if they put my Vinson in with the Vforce, Raptor and Baja, the Vinson would win by their criteria. But, I bought a sport quad for sport riding. I have a trail machine for trails. That's my vinson. I spend 90% of my riding time in the dunes here in Idaho.
By the way I'm only 5'9" and 180 pounds, and I love to ride and throw my Baja around.

I think its fair to say that a DS or a V-Force will never win any shootout unless ALL the test riders are large men who can appreciate the size and power.

I think it's great! If they can convince everyone that the DS is a big slow bike then great.. go buy something else. It's getting crowded in here anyway... has everyone had a shower??? I hope the DS never becomes "mainstream", I like having something that is different. Hey yamaha guys... is that you stinking up the joint??
