Default Drags this weekend 16th & 17th

We had a good timel, took 2 classes and would have had a third if the brake rotor on the drag banshee wouldn't have bent and ripped the caliper off. What we didn't like though was the inconsistancy of how each class was run, every time it seemed different and the matchups rarely made sense. There seemed to be a constant confusion over who had won each race and who they needed to race next.

Steves brake rotor shouldnt have been a problem. After he had beat everyone, he started to race the losers? And the reason the winner races all of the losers is? I thought the losers raced the losers for 2nd place? That's how it worked in all of the previous classes. I heard a few comments come out of the longview crew that will keep me from ever going back there again. I will not repeat what they said, but I guarantee you, it's NOT the kind of racing we are into. I guess one tends to get pissed off when the 4 strokes are dominating a track full of 2 strokes?

If I would have seen pics of this place before we went, I would have stayed home. My idea of a "groomed drag strip" is not a 1 foot ditch that is 7' wide. The shutdown area was just dangerous. There isn't a better word to describe it. Let's get going 70 mph and try stopping in 150-200' downhill, going towards trees. I was dissapointed with the way this place was misrepresented, but I still had a great time. I raced all day, won some money, and met some cool people.

DollarBillz, I didn't run. I had the stock yellow DS650 that was park @ the end of track next to the Dark green ford 250superduty 4x4 with the little black trailer with the big black box on front of it. the trailer had a white polaris scrammy sittting on it. We got there @ about 11am sunday and did a good bit of drag racing in the grass feild before the drag races started. After going quit a few passes I figured out that I some gear way to tall for way stock motor in 300'. My brothers scrammy was running pretty good until it blow to reads out the back. I was to one videoing the races at the end of the track wearing blue jean shorts, dark blue 1310 the ticket "P1" baseball jersey, lace up boots, ball cap & glasses. 401 it was nice meeting you, Nice ride. Craycraft made a big showing. The craycraft rappy with nos is it OK? I haven't watch the tape yet but when I was filming I saw I puff fire or smoked @ the end just before the finish line. I thought that mrmeaner did a good jod on the DS & helping out @ setting up the races.
Hope to get a chance to meet up with everyone next time soon!
Later! Joe

my bike is fine i missed a gear and hit the rev limiter and that made it back fire through the carbs and caught the air filter on fire but other than that was it very fast for a four stroke

DollarBillz, glad to here your bike is OK! Up until that, it looked like you were running real Strong! It's good to here that no one had any major damage to there bikes or injuries. Didn't have anyone back flip like velocityrapter, that had to hurt. Thank god, I like to see everyone leave a great event with there body & bike in one peice. Can't wait until the next event, I hope 14mins gets the new ATPT track together soon. I'm sorry that I left mr.meaner the only one rep. the DS650's but after drag racing in the field behind the track for 2or3 hrs before the event started, I found out that with my gearing that I was running was to tall for my stock DS so I put up the white flag up before the drag races started & taped them. I guess next time I hope that there is a stock class I can run in and take the a$$ whipping or give one but I think I have a ways to go to give one but we all have to start somewhere & I'm just getting started. Have a great time though. enuff of my blah, blah, blah.
Later! Joe

maybe mr. meaner can explain why steve had to race all the losers in his class. back to back to back. and lets not forget the magic red light. that came on every time chris and ryan won.

I'm a outsider to this but I think what they were doing was to make sure that everyone had a fair chance. the winner I think would run the same guy in a different lane lane and if he lost than(1-1) then the winner would race again in the original lane to make sure that it was the bike and not the lane. I'm not sure yet but I think 1 lane faster than the other, thats this was done but not sure. I'm sure other races or track would do the same to keep everything fair. 1 lane is always faster than the other I think but I could be wrong but I'm new to this. If you win first than you run again and if you win again two straight it's done but if you split than the person that won first gets there lane back & that is it. So the left or right lane could win three straight but how ever won the two out of three in that lane won the races I think? I have had 1 two many beers at this point. I'm just trying to make everyone understand why It was done this way when I'm no exspert. sorry for the spelling. I think they were trying to make everything fair. As 14mins knows he has put so much it to his event and there is always someone that isn't happy. These poeple who take there time out trys there best, I think. Atlease they try. There alot of people that sit back and complane. We need more people step up & try to put a event on & me included. Sorry again for the Blah, Blah, Blah. I had a good time and I'm sure I will have a good time at the next event for anyone that puts the time in to it. Thanks again, I have always had a good time at a TEXAS EVENT!
Thanks! Joe

Joe...yeah, the way they switched lanes and everything was fair...that was a great idea and we arent arguing that. But steve beat everything out there and had to race a few of them again? That doesn't make much sense.
"Hopefully he'll blow his motor"
Well, he was taken out of the races, but he didnt blow his motor..sorry to disappoint you guys

RaptorRcR, you didn't dis me at all. I had a good time! If you read my other post than you could see that I didn't want to see anything happen to anyones bike. I had a good time just videoing the races. I put up the white flag and mrmeaner was left to run for the DS650 by his self. I should have done more myself but had no chance with the stock ds650. I'm not trying to say I could do something different. I don't think that mrmeaner or anyone else wanted to do anything to harm anyone at the races. Things just happens maybe I'm wrong I dont know. I'm sure he tryied to put on something like 14mins for the good of drag racing between raptors & DS650. Who else is up to the task. I think we kned more people trying to bring everyone together. I had a good time!
