The biggest and best advice that I or anyone else can give anybody is, spend the damn $85.00 and get that temp gauge from ESR!!!! Your fan could be coming on for a million reasons besides heat. With the gauge you will always know the temp coming out of your head and into the Radiator. DO not trust that stupid red Light! You should also invest in a Oil pressure gauge that is liquid filled like the Pro-comp gauge. By the time your red light starts to come on from dropping oil pressure it is too late!!!!!! Your bearings are going to fried!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't let it happen to you, because when it does after reading this post, then you are going to sit there and take it while I laugh my as@S off at you for being to cool! Just spend the little extra money or suffer the consequences.

What fan? Pitch that darn fan, get a water cooler and some radiator shrouds and wire the fan circuit to a red light on the dash. When you ride you can see when the fan WOULD'VE kicked in and you can decide to get a little more air flow over the radiator to cool her down.

On another note, a friend of mine welded in a Ninja fan! Hahahah - it works, but whats the point really? Cooler, shouds and a light - no more problems!

FAN what the He11 are you guy's talking about you mean ds's have fans?????????

He bud i have three ds's and no fan on either one of them no shrouds on either one and plain old water in all three. one runs on gas and the other two on a nitrometanol mix

Im not telling you that a fanless ds is the way to go im just giving you another view.
