Default other headlight options- Trailtech?

I currently have no headlight for my DS, and before I take a trip to the dunes I really ought to get something set up. Stock lights are OK, but I busted up my original mounting bracket and want to try something different.

Does anyone have any experience with Trailtech?
I'm thinking it might be cool to make a bracket to mount three Trailtech lights in the stock location: one 50W (flood) for low beam and two 75W (one flood, one spot) for high beams. Does anybody have any thoughts on this subject? I'd like to hear any opinions that may be out there before I drop $150 on a set of lights.

A friend of mine bought cheap look a like lights that are the same as trailtech's. We made out own bracket like theirs out of aluminum. It worked very good and he was happy when he went to the dunes in June. The only problem with the cheap lights is the light broke off of the mounting stud last week on our track. I would like to think that trailtechs are a little better. I think you would like them if you bought them.

If ya wanna step up to some lighting....

Go buy the two HIDs from the HID Store and mount them to Albas Aluminum Radiator Shrouds.... You WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED!!! But... they're high dollar.

I run 2 of them, with a Hella Rallye 4000 HID as my main light. 3 HIDs all together. It's like daylight... but costs a big buck! Very needed in Mexico (Baja) at 80mph!

I'm only offering this up since I see so many people try many different light combinations. Then when they don't like what they bought... they have to buy some more... test those... and so on. I did it.... I've been through every halogen ligh combination you can think of between my old Banshee (with a battery and 260watt stator) and this new DS.

HIDs are the best, most efficient, and definitely the brightest. They just cost a grip!
( I figured if ya quit eating out... skimp on some bills.... and dump the girlfriend... YOU've GOT HIDS!!!) LOL!

We had the Trail Tech HID's on the Bomb we raced. TBR built a sweet bracket to mount them and we used one spot and one flood. They are high dollar, but the HID output for the dunes can't be compared. I decreased my laptimes by 2+ minuted running at 2am because the lights really helped define the terrain. The cool thing too it they quick connect, so you can remoce a couple of pins and it's off for the day.

Jayce....10 Any pictures??

Let's see what TBR made ya.
I'm about to have them do my steering stem, but I'm waiting on h-bar brackets by TAG.

I'd be interested to see what they made ya, and what the HIDs look like on your DS.

And ya... the HIDs can't be surpassed no matter where you ride actually.

I can't seem to get back on to Trailtech's page right now to look at their HID kit, but that HID Store kit is definately out of my price range! (At least as long as I'm in college, just nine months left ) Getting three ordinary Trailtech lights is almost out of my price range... that's why my DS hasn't had any headlight since May.

Mudstud- Do you think my idea to use three Trailtech lights instead of the stock light would work? How big are those lights? (diameter and length of the mounting stud) Are yours run off an extra switch or did you get it all wired in to the stock switch?

Well, I don't have any pics myself, but if you go to the tbrproducts.com, they have pics of it in the gallery section but they are small. Thet was the first design, the light mounts came through the stock light opening, and the framework hid below the plastic, very clean. The new setup they just finished, lowers the light so it's not so exposed in a crash.

As for light choices, If you go 3 light, you may want to go with 2 floods and a spot, that should give you good coverage.
