Default Stk and ported head flow #'s...

I thought i would post the flow #'s for my STK head and STK intake manifold(bolted together) as well as the flow #'s for my head after the porting and ported intake(bolted together).

Stock intake port, intake manifold not ported, stk valve job-230 cfm
Ported intake manifold and head no valve job-310 cfm

Stock exhaust, no port or valve job-200 cfm
Ported exhaust port no valve job-247 cfm

The #'s will pickup some more after a valve job, but i gotta get the valves first. I'll post the results when i get em.

Picked up quite a bit of flow. Keep in mind that the ports were not hogged out.

that's interesting, when i had my head and intake ported, and the intake matched to the head ports, I didn't get the #'s even though it was measured, I was just told I got around a 25% increase overall if memory serves. mine were not enlarged either, just intake matched to head ports, casting flash cleaned up and rough surfaces smoothed out. oh, and those little shoulders on the base of the valve guides ground down smooth.

Mine flowed at 346 CFM. That is with the bigger valves.

Punisher,

Was that with the intake manifold attatched? How much bigger were the valves? I'm prolly going with larger valves, but not much larger. Prolly 2-3mm. The best thing about this port job is that it still maintains good velocity(not hogged out). Not saying yours did'nt. I'm really curious as to what my powerband will look like as well as how much hp i'll pickup. Hopefully it'll be in the 55-60hp range(added 11.5:1 piston, cams, porting, replaced the MBRP w/ RWR, and prolly swapping to Dual 39's). Mine dyno'd at 41hp at ATPT in the HEAT OF THE DAY(DA was 3300ft!). Hopefully it'll improve alot...

I think you should make that range no problem. Yes, I had the intake manifold on, 40mm IN. 34 IN. EX.

Just an update.

My porter was held up on other things as well as waiting on some replacement valves to show up for my head(took em over 3 weeks to get them to him!). He has been playing around with different valve angles as well as tinkering with the port. If all goes well, my head should be back in a week or two. Here is the specs:

1.5mm over stk intake valves on stk seats(different angles though) The port has been enlarged 2mm(at the inlet, not sure about how much further down). Dual intake manifold from RWR. He port matched it at the head.
He is at 370cfm right now. He did'nt like the valves that he got, so he is getting some more with different specs(i think a slightly smaller stem in the port kinda like some aftermarket automotive valves). He thinks it will be close to 390cfm once its all said and done. He is gonna try some different valve angles. Velocity should be really good considering all that cfm in a port not much larger than stk. He did say that the dual intake was worth 18cfm over the ported single intake, but that was still with the stk valves and valve job. He will re-flow with both intakes to see if the single is flow limited at the higher cfm's.

At how many inches of water are these flow numbers. Just curious because I'm getting ready to have a head ported and would like to have a comparison. Did you use stainless or titanium? Thanks
