i was up there last friday before labor day, it was a blast. Me, Waynester, Entomber, RacerX, to represent the DS crowd. Me and a group from Indy are going back up in a couple weeks, along with some kentucky folk, and a few MI guys meeting us. Staying at Jellystone nights of 16th and 17th.
Riding dunes all day 16th, some of us are gonna drive 40 miles to ride the 41 mile loop of the Little O trail the morning of the 17th, then more dunes that afternoon/evening.

Another trail that is nice is the little Manistee (sp?) motor loop out if Luther. Nice state forest camp ground, with a river to wash off in after a dusty day. It used to be 72 miles long, wide like a two track, graded once a year to keep the whoops under control, mostly sand, a few wet spots if a wet year. I'd say it's about an hour and change from Silver lake...I think. Seems like there is a site you can access a map from the DNR. Sorry I don't remember exactly the address.

 

Huron-Manistee National Forest

 

thanks Oz, that's the very site I got the Little O info from. its part of the manistee trail system, the other part Doc speaks of must be what is now a 91 mile loop that connects to the Little O. the site says that vehicles on this trail must be street legal, but since its right beside the Little O we'll check it out and see while we're there.

 

Hey Hightower,Waynester,Entomber, I had a great time riding with you guys. Hightower, Thanks for the demo, Thats one nice DS[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] It was pretty nutty saturday and sunday. Did some draging on sunday and handed out some spankings[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] I raced this 250R that would not give up. I ran him about dozen times and he got me 3 or 4 times and all of those I had bad starts[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-frown.gif[/img] He was also about 20+ pds lighter and we no how much lighter the R is. Man what a great weekend[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] Maybe I will see you guys the 16-18.

You gotta make our next Haspin Acres ride too - if you can, or maybe Badlands.....
