when I was at a dealer talking to them about trading in my traxter one of the dealers said I have a bad boot...I know what the boot is but how can I tell if it is bad or not? any help wout be appreciated thanks

look for some small tears or holes, r u talkin about the rubber boot for your drive shaft rite?

 

yeah...when they said it they were looking at the front left side...so I am gonna check it out in the morn...if it is bad how much are parts and how hard is it to replace?

 

I looked at it this afternoon and it is the boot on the right side(when siting on it) that is cloest to the wheel...It is leaking grease....what kind of damage can this do and also my previouse question...thanks

well i would definetly replace it, theres a reason the grease is in there you don't want it 2 go dry, how much the boot is i don't know, i don't have one myself but my uncle who lives next door has one, i'll go over n take a look at it 2morrow n c wat i can figure out how to replace it,

srry man, went on sat n he was riding it, i was shocked, he like never rides the thing, only has like 900 on it, i ment to go look at it 2day, but i got workin on mine, i'll go after school tomorrow

 

ahh ok. Tommarow when I get home from school I might start taking it apart to see if I will be able to do it myself. And I guess I ride mine less then your uncel because I only have like 750 miles on it! and I have had it for 3 years now!

 

lol, well hes let my bro and one of his buddies take it on small trips, so i bet they've put 300 just their, and i've taken it out for an hr or 2, i've prolly put like 75 on it myself,
