Fuel Injection for the DS!
#33
I am not the designer, so I cant explain it near as good as Darrel White can, but from what I gather. The fuel comes into the bottom of the carb, where the "fuel Spool" is. This fuel spool has a groove in it, this gruve is tapered. It starts out the size of a peice of hair, and progresses in width, and depth till it comes to wide open throttle where it turns into a hole which leads directly up a tube where the main jet is(centered inside the carb). The groove on the Fuel spool is your Low/Mid,and top ,BUT, thier is also the size of the Main jet AND the amount of fuel pressure that can have a big impact on the way this Pulse Carb is tuned, to a specific motor.
This Fuel delivery system is in linkage to the butterfly flap which everyone knows controls the AIR to the engine. This linkage has a simple adjustment on it, that will allow you to "fine tune" the ratio between the Fuel spool and the butterfly.
This is a work in progress, but it has "I think" great possibilities. I am the only person to have one of these made for a quad, but they have been shipped Nation wide for more than a couple years now for Mini-dragsters. And people who race mini dragsters are even more crazy than we are when it comes down to ET. So if they are wanting them, and trying them, I think with a little time and effort these will make great Quad carbs also. ESPECAILLY for as drag racers.
