Yeahn I cut about half way between the seat and that bend. I just got some masking tape and taped a cut line on one side where I wanted it and then tried to copy that to the other side and just took measurementsfrom the seat to the tape and at the the bottom from the frame to the tape so I knew where the beginning and end was and that it was even. I even made it curve instead of a straight line so it looked better and then used a cutoff wheel on my dremel tool to cut it and then cleaned up the cut with a razor and some patience.

Pound a few cold ones first, so that it wont look too bad if you screw them up. Ask JoshiePoo his fenders look like a shark took a bite outta them. I used a angle grinder with a cut off wheel and followed one of the bends already in the plastic. Doesnt look like Dumbo anymore now.

I cut mine at the crease about 3 inches from the outside edge with a dremel tool and cleaned it up with a hand plane. I used black self adhesive edge trim from an auto supply store around the outside and it looks really sharp. I swiped the idea from someone at 4 stroke wars.

Use masking tape on the inside of the cut.... that way you don't mark up dem perty fenders.
I used a (electric) saber saw with a fine tooth blade... 200 grit sand paper to clean up the edges somewhat.
Now here's the real trick....
Use a pencil torch to heat the edges after you've sanded them. Just enough to almost drip plastic. Meaning... melt them!! Yes... you use a pencil torch on the edge of the plastic where you cut (oh ya... remove the tape first!!!). It'll leave you with a super smooth and factory finish on that edge.
Now... don't tell everyone.... it's my secret!!! LOL!
Also...
You can view my pictures to see where I cut.
Personally I don't like the "drag" look and think fender serve a purpose. (now why did I lose the front ones?! Cuz they ugly!) But to cleanly cut the rears.... it looks so much better. Check mine out... I'm pretty damn proud of them.

I used a jigsaw and followed the outside most creased-like line untill I got about to the end of the back and I tapered them on each side by cutting inside more. Then I cleaned them up with a disk grinder. It looks sweet and I have my own custom thing for the rear of the back fenders.
