Default Brand New Baja X!

After comparing the Raptor 660 to the 04 DS650 Baja X, I went with the Baja. I have never ridden a quad so comfortable and with such incredible high speed handling. Not to mention the unique looks and power. I haven't raced my friends Raptor yet, but I think it will be close. Both are great bikes, but I definately love the characteristics of the DS much better than any other quad I've ridden.

You won't be disappointed. I just went riding with two friend in northern MI on Saturday. Casey has a Raptor and Chris has a LTZ400. They're both amazed of the power of the DS, esp. in the powerband. I've only had the beast for a month and love it.

Congrats, I too have the X and I LOVE it!! You will beat the Raptor in a drag, if you do your part. The problem I found is that with the shorter 04' swingarm the X wheelies like an SOB out of the hole. To remedy this, I put on a 17 tooth front sprocket (one size up). I also added Ron woods racing heavy clutch springs and a K&N (didn't need to change jetting) None of these parts void the warranty, according to my dealer. I noticed dramatic improvement in the performance of the X. The fastest I could get the X , Garmin Gecko GPS, before the mods was 75.9 mph. After the mods I am pulling 81.9mph and am getting way better and faster holeshots. These speeds were done at about 4700ft in the Adirondak mountains. My machine is jettted for about 800ft. I am pulling my buddies fully piped, jetted, full airbox mods when I shift into fourth and even more when I shift into fifth. This machine is undergeared from the factory to keep it under a certain speed which really hides its true potential. Even with the 17 in the front I can still pull the front up going into third. A stock raptor is NO match for my machine now. Even if I blow the start I am passing the stocker when I shift into fourth. The only other weakness I see The X have is the Rev limiter. I can still hit the Rev limiter at top speed. Three to four hundred more RPM's would be perfect!

Good decision. I have had my DS650 for about a month now, and I love it. The DS consistently has the most power and best suspension. How can you go wrong?
