Almost met my match with a Banshee!!!!!!!!

This weekend I was in the Adirondak mountains in lewis county NY. You can ride your Quads on all of the roads Except the main highways. I went up against ALOT of sport Machines. I saw this Banshee and instantly I knew I had to check it out. It had FMF pipes with power core Mufflers, a Coolhead, And Very large carbs that said not for airplane use on them ( i couldn't tell what size they were). This machine was set up for MX and cross country according to the owner. I had to race him! So I did! And I almost lost! Damn, that thing was fast! Well, We took off and I had the hole ( he was spinning) He caught me by the end of second, and I pulled slightly ahead in third. In fourth I maintained my lead (his fronts were at my feet). When I shifted into fifth he pulled up dead even with me and seemed to match me all they way down the road. We went for about a half mile with neither of us making any move on the other. When we stopped I pulled out my GPS and it read 81.9 mph max speed. I believe that if he had different gearing he would have beaten me. What a race!

Banshee's can be tough to beat if modded properly. They are the best drag bike out there in my opionion. However not a big fan of 2 strokes and that is the only thing I think a banshee does well. It's also been out 15 years so there is a lot of R & D into that quad.
I have yet to see a 4 stroke drag like a 2 stroke. Then again I'm out in the East Coast where there isn't nearly as sick stuff as in out west.

Nothing is impossilbe. Stick a GSXR 750 motor in a DS frame, all kinds of work to it and naturally aspirated it can kick some banshee butt... it's all about how fast you wanna spend.

Then I'll put a solid rocket booster off the space shuttle in a Banshee. I'm telling you, properly set up nothing beats a Banshee.
If you modify an existing platform, the Banshee is the fastest.
If you start with a stock bike and add $1000, the Banshee is the fastest.
If you start with a stock bike and add $2000, the Banshee is the fastest.
If you start with a stock bike and add $3000, the Banshee is the fastest.
If you start with a stock bike and add $4000, the Banshee is the fastest.
If you start with a stock bike and add $5000, the Banshee is the fastest.
If you start with a stock bike and add $10,000, the Banshee is the fastest.
If you start with a stock bike and add $15,000, the Banshee is the fastest.
This continues until Bill Gates runs out of money.

Cop, good win but all in all that was not a very hot Banshee. Most ported Banshees will beat your DS and it is very easy to mod a Banshee to a point where even the fastest four strokes don't have a chance.

Stock Banshee against stock Ds Baja, in the sand, both with stock tires which do you think would win?

If you beat a piped banshee with a stock ds, one of two things has happened, either the banshee had no traction ( a common problem with the banshee) or it was not tuned properly.
Banshees are hard to beat for draggin and hillclimbing. My baja was a good running machine and my banshee would beat it most times. On flat land it was closer, but on hills the banshee would blow by.
