My friend Tate (Ds650RaCeR) and Antwain (Hurycne) encountered a major problem when they were working on getting Tates DS back together....they were pull starting it and all of a sudden BAM it was running man!! I mean running good! But.....

it said BAM again and literally it went BAM Antwain said ohhh snap (or something of that nature)....the deal is it actually caught on fire....Tate took off running through his big a$$ back yard.....started fillign up a crock pot of water....when his mom handed him the fire extinguisher....he ran outside and most of the ALKy had burnt out by then and as we all know the surface that alky burns on is not harmed but the surroundings are....well it only burned the wire looms a little....but the pig was sure enough blazin!
Alky had leaked out of the carb and they were only running a head pipe trying to bust it off...and it backfired....which gave spark to the blaze. So the point and moral of the story is....Tate is eating pig for dinner....

could have been MUCH MUCH worse but thank God it wasnt! Since it wasnt.....we can laugh!!

thats why when I ran my motor after it was rebuilt I only had about 1 cup of gas, just to make sure it ran. And I did it in the drive way with the hose on... Never had to use it.

 

mrmeaner timing was advanced by 1 tooth and we fixed that...i had no air filter on and the fuel that was not being sucked into the intake was blowing out of the carb into mid air and after a high rev by hurycne it sputtered out a backfire and it just ignited..nothing was harmed besides my pride of not being able to take the ds to DRW tomorrow...but i still have the 440...it also caught my pasture on fire...when i came inside my mom said i was as white as a ghost...i mean i swear that was the fastest ive ever ran...and it was a long run..i was on the back side of my pasture LOL!but oh well...it happened and luckily nothing major was harmed...and now we no it runs good..soo..it should be up and running in about a week or two...

welp...i went over it one last time last night...nothing seems to be burnt besides the gas lines...and the plastic coils rapped around all the wires are synged...i will be very glad when i get it running perfect we are not going to try to get it cranked or anything any more until i get my drag pipes so we dont have the flame backfiring right by the carb..LOL..but i mean..i will still be making it to drw today...we will be leaving right when i get out of school(thats where im at) so im guessing around 2...hope to see alot of yall there!
KYLE WE ARE MEETING YOU IN OK CITY TO PICK UP THE ALKY RIGHT!?how far do you live from samcoeds!?i was wondering if not to far maybe i could give you a lil gas money to go get that fcr 39 mm carb for my 440 from him so i can be on alky at DRW!????but im guessing you are a good ways away!
