My bike is overheating from time to time. Its got plenty of coolant and oil. The fan is running great.

So what is there to do?

On these motors is it like a car where you can get cooler set thermostats or can I just take it out?

Radiator Shrouds?

Ill have to check that out..... Will having it jetted lean also cause some slow throttle response?

Its not to bad with the air cover on but if I try to take the cover off its has really slow throttle response.

 

i don't know what jet kit you have but sounds like you would want a 170-180 stock jet.

 

I have the K&N Jet kit

 

Drain your coolant and mix 50/50 water wetter and h20. Also try adding radiator shrouds and possibly a in-line cooler.

 

Mr. Endomaniac, I HAVE HAD MY DS for about 2 years when it started running hot about 2 months ago, ( fan always on, coolant hose on the left side blowing off enough to spray hot coolant on my right leg, red light was comming on etc....) went ahead and changed the thermostat and ..........no more problems. I think the thermostat was sticking???? causing a back pressure that was causing the coolant hose on the right side to partially blow off causing me exetreme pain when hot coolant hit my bare right leg. Go figure-why me Jesus??????
