LOL, I thought you might recend your post. A crash is a crash and whatever happens happens. Yes his foot did hammer the shifter in that head on with the ground and that would be the cause of the failure. He went riding with me and Larry once since that incident and he does have the shifter up higher to not have that happen again. Don't know if he's a busy guy or what but I'd think we'd see him some more at the dunes.

I went to that sale once. Didn't like the nut to butt atmosphere, I felt like I was in a department store sale with a bunch of women scratching and clawing for stuff. Only these were harry and smelly people instead of soft,
smooth and pleasant to look atpeople. Most of them anyway. LOL

Dave,

I think we'll have to get about 5-6 of us together to start a phone campaign to call Gary (Bombastic) to get him out of his shell and out on the dunes this year.

You didn't happen to go to the sale in the morning, did you? in the morning that place gets so crowded that it is literally standing room only. In the past two years it has become much better though; they now have it in the streets AND parking lots surrounding Chapparal. The vendors are in the parking lots & the street is almost completely open for walking room. I also advise going toward the end of the day (it ends at 3pm, so get there at like noon because they start to fold up shop at 2pm.) It's much better at the end of the day - there are far fewer people & the vendors want to get rid of as much stuff as possible so they will make you a better deal if you buy a lot.

The most amusing vendor every year is LBZ - they have some twisted stuff. I mean, I could be riding in purple fuzzy riding pants! Now I dunno about the people who work for LBZ, but there are very few guys who are going to sport purple like that; or dark green or fake leather or pink, (yes - they had pink in mens sizes!)

I talked to Al the other day and he said his new quad didn't come with the screen in the Oil resevoir. Must be a new update or something.

I talked to Gary A.K.A. Bombastic and he has been quite busy and hasn't had much time to come out and play with his compadre's! He has been working on re-modeling his kitchen which I beleive he has done now. And he has been catching up on his fishing also. He told me his Mother-in-Law passed away recently also, My condolences by the way Gary. But when he called me he said that he was having some difficulty installing some new skid plates on his Baja, so I guess he is starting to warm up fo this season it sounds like!

And Bartlett $7k out the door sounds a little steep! I would think more like $6500.00 to $6750.00 would be more like it.
