Bombardier, we want a 2-stroke quad!!
a 600 single will shake/vibrate like a tractor, atk will come out with the 700cc intimidator motocross bike engine in a quad, the whole frame will be built by an another aftermarket builder, they will add counter balance to the motor to keep vibrations down for the quad version tough...

"As a small manufacturer, ATK is exempt from upcoming EPA regulations, and that is letting us do some really different things..."

I was thinking of a Rotax 2-stroke...not an ATK motor.
Bombardier would be better off going with Rotax for their motors. Rotax is the only maker that has 2-strokes that run as clean as thumpers and have nearly the same fuel economy while maintaining the same HP as the equivalent carbed motor.
And the Rotax 600 HO SDI motor is very strong and smooth. If I was bomb, I'd go with them.

Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury Marine, and Polaris, all make 2 smokes that don't really smoke. Direct Injection is the key. Look to marine engines for the technology. Dinli is the one making the Cannondales, ATK only bought the remaining parts inventory.
Frank White (ATK) designed the DS650, he said he designed 3 quads, one was a 400 cc (on par w/ 400ex), and the third was a 2 stroke racrd, he thought the DS was the most unlikely to be built.
