Default DS backfire

Have an 03 bone stock DS which ive had for about 2 months I dearly love it but it has a quiurk that my dealer hasnt heard of. It backfires and stalls . You can feel the pop under the seat , it always starts right back up. it happens intermittantly. sometimes after iIve been raceing it sometimes tooling down a trail in sightseeing mode. the plugs were replaced ,good fuel put in no difference. It doesnt happen every time I ride it eve but it does concern me. Any thoughts? Thanks.

My 02' Baja does it once and a while. Usally when im racing or running it hard. Never backfires hard enough to stall it though.

Mine used to do that when the temps dropped down. It would backfire out the carb and sometimes stall. It usually happened when letting off the throttle after running at higher RPM's. It even did that after the valves were adjusted. Sounds like its running a little lean. You can richen up the air/fuel screw and add a bigger main jet to see if that helps.

My Predator does this too but just every once in a blue moon. I know that this is a different quad but it shares a lot of similar features like the carb is identical and the airbox setup is similar. Maybe it is a carb issue???? I don't think that it is causing any damage.

ALWAYS REMEMBER if you smoked as many things as the DS then you would probably cough every once in a while too.
