Default need overheating help bad!!

well I went ahead and took it back out again for a little ride down the road.. then back and around my yard about 10 times..(5 acre yard) real slow. and it didnt come on.. when i pulled it back in the garage it was dark in there and I could see a slight hint of the red light comeing on but hardly noticable... I then shut it off and turned the key and the fan came on.. but I still think it is running to hot.. wnen I am riding I can feel the heat through my pants on my lower legs.. that motor is really running hot..

I have this stuff that my cousin got at the auto parts store that you put in your coolant and its supposed to make it run 40degrees cooler.. would that be ok to run in the DS at like a 50/50 mixture

i run a product called water wetter on my drag bike but i don't run it in cool weather because it take the motor to long to heat up. it won't hurt anything but if you ride when it's cold give it a little extra time to warm up.

Thanks! it's had several mods done to it but i'm really not sure what all. it dynoed out at 482@ the rear wheels without the bottle. it was allready modified when i got it but i do know the turbos have been changed along with the waste gate, boost controller, ignition and exhaust. there were several other things the original owner named but they went i one ear and out the other, imports are new to me. i've ran it at the track a few times and stayed in the low 10's with nitrous. it's fun but kinda cramped. the busa is my baby. it's running low 9's. just bought a sunbeam tiger the other day that has a 302 in it stroked to a 408. it starts but has to have some tranny work and a lot of cosmetic work to be done. it's going to be a project for me and my sone so he can start learning. wish you luck on the over heating

I will probably be getting a busa or a ZX12 next year.. I have had a couple street bikes but they have all been racers I just want something a little more comfortable that I can ride and not be all cramped up.. however the new R1 is very tempting with being under 400 pounds and 180 HP!!!!

chadscrambler, don't put that coolant additive in now, it is to cold up here.

The 2000's had a recall on the sensor, maybe yours was not updated, mine did the same thing, after a good pressure washing, the light started coming on very dim. I took it in, they told me there was a recall on that part...no problems since!

if you get a busa try to find the first they came out. they weren't tuned down then. the gov stepped in and made them tune down the later ones. the zx12 is pretty good to. the busa has a little more top end but i will never get up there anyway
