Intake port Question?
#1
I currently have been running the dual fcr39s, and I have 2 different intakes, one came from ron woods and was only matched to the head intake and not ported all the way through, and there is a 1/8 inch lip restricting the flow from carb side of rubber intake boot..
I also have Majorechos intake for Duals and it has been hogged out bigtime all the way through with no restiction what so ever, and no more lip [ of course the hogged out intake has been installed now, but havent ridden it yet]...
My question is, could this have been the lack of bottom end that I have been suffering???, there is a night and day difference in the 2 intakes, the ported one I have now made it Idle higher after installed for some reason and seems to rev alot faster, now I have gotten rid of that big lip where carb slides into intake, and replaced it with Majors and its substantially larger ID, there was even a huge difference between the 2 intakes even looking at them side by side..I assume the skinny inside diameter of the intake and the lip would really foul up the performance of a high flowing big bore, especially with dualls?? any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks...
