Default 04' HEADLIGHT

Ok I did a search a first and I still have a couple questions on the headlight.

1. Is there anything I need besides the trim and the lamp assembly?
2. Do I need to modify the wiring for the 2 bulbs? And if so how?
3. Does the mounting of the lamp assembly need to be modified? If so how?

Thanks for the help. I just went and ordered the headlight and trim ring.

Also if someone would do a "how to" on retrofitting a 04 headlight to a 03,then im sure Buttfungus would be more then willing to put it on his website.

It would be nice if someone could get all the part numbers and parts that are needed for the conversion.

Sandman
Does the headlight come with the bulbs or did you just pick up another H-4?

I really like the looks of the new headlight with the trim ring but I just replaced my headlight after it got hit by a rock at Dumont. A casualty of the mach2 dune rides behind Jonnys KX500 (or was that AK47 ). I wish I looked into the new one first.

I defintely want one. I went thru 5 headlights and they roughly cost me 100 each. I hear the new ones are cheaper.

I've decided this is the next project I am going to tackle (after the Dumont trip.)

With the plastic off I noticed the super-glue on the left mount has given way so the stocker is now hanging by the right side only again

When I get back I am going to start ordering parts. If no-one has done so, I'll get the part numbers together and let you know what is needed as far as wiring.

Does anyone have a junker head-light laying around that I could get the wiring harness from? PM me if you do (I used this trick on my new LED tail-light install last week - plugs in like the stocker!)

If a fabricated mount is needed, I'll try to make more than one so we can have a blank to fab up a kit.

Duneme,
You can buy a new three-prong headlight plug fron any autoparts store and just wire in parallel with the existing light.

I picked up the trim and headlight today. The trim doesnt fit all that well. Anyone have part numbers on the mounting brackets yet? Local dealer told me that they have no intentions of getting the new parts catalog. I would rather not jimmy rig the mounting for the light.
