Ok I totally burried my DS today and am going to get rid of the stock tires. I ride mainly trails and quite of bit of river sand bed riding in Iowa. The stock tires just spin in sand and water and dont push the quad anywhere. Do any of you guys have any good ideas for tires? Im looking at going with possibly Mud-Lites or Holeshots, or really anything you guys suggest. Also what about tire size, I was looking at going for around a 22x10-9 to get a little more clearance. Any help would be great.

Razr 2's do really well about everywhere. I dont know too much about the sand tho, I'm one of those insane people who ride a DS thru the woods and at a MX track...
I imagine they would do alright. The lugs are deeper than the standard Razr or Holeshots and they have very stiff sidewalls so they corner like nobodies business!
The Mudlights are a mixed bag. Very good in mud. Ok in soft dirt. Get in hard pack or try to spin around a track and you will throw alot of dirt but not move forward particularly fast. My father has these on the rear of his 400EX. Cornering is especially fun but non productive. Powersliding can be an all day affair!

Im kinda thinking mudlights for when i ride in the river and snow this winter and then keeping the stock for track and trails. I have a MX track at my house and the stocks do great just in dirt, but when in sand and mud they just dig themselves into a hole and quickly Im to the swingarm and cant go anywhere.

I run Holeshot XCT front 23x7x10 and Holeshot XCT rear 22x11x10 and they hook up very well and do pretty good in the soft stuff. The only problem with muddin with the ds is ground clearence, just punch it and hold on, that usually takes you through anything. I mostly use these tires for woods and MX tracks, and I like them. I have never ridden sand but I just bought new ITP Sand Stars for my first dune ride this weekend.

Yeah I wish I could put paddles on for the river and sand, but we ride 2-3 miles of trails from my house to get to the rivers and i would imagine paddles wouldnt last long on the trails and road. Kinda sucks theres never a tire that works great for both. I was planning on replacing the stocks with razors or holeshots when the stocks wore out. But if i can find something that hooks up well for riverbeds (that consist of water, sand, an mud around here) and the trails leading to them I would deffinatly replace the stocks now after seeing what the do in the sand and mud. Just wondering if the holeshots or razors will get through the sand and mud decent.
