Default Big bores and big carbs

I know there are tons of options available. I just wanted to hear what size of carbs you guys where using so I had an idea of how big of a carb to use.

Do most of the big bore DS 650's run a single carb even?

Lot of guys run a 48mm Mikuni,or Lectron single. But dual 39's are HARD to beat.

Really depends on what kind of power you're looking for. I run a TM45 on my 720 with great results but my preference is bottom/mid with a big emphasis on torque. I may consider 39 duals when I go to 760cc though.

You are correct, I have the downdrafts and have yet to find a hill that I've run out of fuel on. The downdraft carbs just have the float bowl at an angle. Works for me but may not work for you.

Wow, didn't know you could run those!

I guess your bowls are more level when you are going up the hill than the side-draft ones!

KM run race gas, and it doesnt require as much fuel. I think one would be more at risk running the bowls dry running alky. also the down-drafts wont fit with a Ron Wods pipe. The extra angle on the bowls hit the mid-pipe.
