Default Big bores and big carbs

For all you guys with big bores like the 720 kits. What do you do for carbs? I heard that a lot of guys are switching over to a 46mm hv lectron carb. Would this flow enough for larger dispalcements?

The reason I am asking you guys is because I am thinking about going to a single carb setup, and I don't know what size of carb to get. My engine is going to be a 727cc all modded out, and I might be running alkie in the futur. So what would you guys recommend for my application?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Default Big bores and big carbs

I guess I should have explained better. I own a raptor, and it was running on the stock carbs with a 686 kit. It blew up on labor day, and I am currently in the process of building a 727. So I will need new carbs.

I didn't want to go with the 35mm fcr's like the other raptors because I think they cost way to much.

I know a lot of DS 650 are running some really big bores. So I wanted to get an idea of what size carbs you guys are using with your big bore kits.

If you could I would like people to post what size of engine (displacement in cc's) they are running, and what carb setup and size. Also which do you perfer, a dual carb setup or single?

Thanks

If your stock carbs are the fcr's with the removable throats then alls you do is remove the 35mm throats and install 39 or 41 throats and rejet and whala you now have big carbs this will be far less expensive than new carbs and im not sure what the stock fcr's are liike but i have several sets and they are all what ever i want them to be at any given time most carbs are universal and the builders tell you!!! "MINE ARE SPECIAL" And they want you too belive this but most carbs are universial and can be what you want them to be for minimal investment!!!

Shows you how much i know about rappy's but just the same you can find many good deals in fcr's on ebay and they are all pretty much universal just use your imagination ??? And at sand mt 2001 rappy brought a set of carbs over to my camp. And i showed him how to convert them too 39mm and i could have sworn he said they were stock but them again i did drink just a little a sand mt Step away from the bottle

A word of caution to add to AZSand's post. . .

There are downdraft FCR's and sidedraft FCR's. You will need the sidedraft FCR's for the DS and Raptor. Make sure you know what you are bidding on!
