titanium chain report.

well my box from sidewinder showed up today and man was i excited ran up to the door and got it, and thought man this feels kind of heavy. so i get into the house and start unpacking the stuff and find some stickers and a flier saying tell your friends. so i look at the invoice and the first thing i notice is the number 120 well this isn't the number i wanted to see i already have a 120 sitting on the shelf for being to short, so i know i was very sure we went over the 130 thing then i looked at the invoice and sure enough there was the extra charge for the extra links. so i grab the chain and think man that sure is a heavy 2lb 7.7 oz so i put it on the scale and sure enough it was well over 5 pounds and after looking a little more it is a nice o-ring steel chain. so i call and say what is the deal, oh just pay to send it back and we will send you your money back plus the money you pay to ship back our mistake. oh and there out of ti chain so maybe in another month i could have one so i think scooby may have been onto something on the earlier posts. at this point i have no choice that i'm aware of but to jump thru the hoops that they have made for me to get my money back but i think i'll be looking else where for a chain.

man, that is crap customer service. just send it back and we will give you your money back??? hello, if they would have just sent the right chain in the first place, maybe some people would have read about it and went with them for that chain, but now it seems a little business will be lost...maybe not much from just you, but if they do this often, word will definitely get around to stay away from sidewinder

maybe it will be better tomorrow after i have a night to sleep on it, i guess the thing that made me upset was they acted like it was my fault, and wanted me to pay for it. but hey the grumpy guy got me some new parts on the way

I too kind of feel that way about sidewinder. After spending a 1/2 hour on the phone from Canada they screwed up the order and shipped with Fedex to my UPS drop point. Hence I never got the package and had to wait another 2 weeks to get it. This time around they shipped to Canada where I live, and I had to pay $20 more in shipping because it had to come accross the border.
I too ordered the ti chain and now that I think of it, it did seem heavy for a ti chain. I probably got a steel chain although I was billed $149.99. Mine was the right length at least. My first chain lasted for 3 years I don't know why I bothered with sidewinder anyway.
I have e-mails these clowns a dozen time about the service I recieved and it always takes them a week to reply to my e-mails. Thier only excuss is that they are short on staff (not my problem) and will try to correct the problem. They will not come to the table on the $20.00 though. I would think that a small matter of $20 to keep a customer happy or have posts like this all over the net would not be to much to ask. What do I know, I have only worked in retail customer service for the last 15 years. I heard of the same thing on another site. Personally I think it's underhanded to just ship the wrong chain. It's obvious theyre hoping you wont know the differance and use it.
Add in the fact that it sounds like they charge the full price for the Ti chain and it's criminal.
