the shocks are different. It might be worth paying the extra for the X then sell off the nerf bars or whatever. I am going to get an x but dont want nerf bars so will take them off and sell them. Sean

That new headlight weighs next to nothing....And you already know how well those front fenders work at keeping rocks, sand and gravel from hitting you in the face.
How come nobody has come up with aluminum mounts for the front fenders?

 

Sandman430 did a pretty extensive job of trimming weight off of his 01/02? DS, He switched to a Ti chain and concentrated on anything that could drop a few pounds. There is a pretty long thread if you can find it. After quite a lot of work he still weighed 490lbs. I think a DS may weigh more than we think off the dealer floor...

handling is bit more soft
not a big change at all

 

im not sure wich it was in but either dirtwheels or atv sport. both buiyers guide. and they had teh specs to both the ds. ds baja and baja x. i think the x was the worst. JMO
