I just got off the phone with Douglas and ordered my 10x9 .190's!! ($55.66)

I asked the sales rep for all the available rim sizes they plan on making for the DS and here they are:

10x9 .190
10x9 .160

10x8 .190
10x8 .160

10x6 .190
10x6 .160

9x9 .190
9x9 .160

He had no word on 10x10's Majority of the above rims are in production AND in stock. However some haven't hit production yet.

Thought I'd let everyone know!

*Sorry thought I should add Douglas' phone number 800-772-3746

Just curious why you feel you need 10" rims? The largest tire I've seen so far for an ATV was 12" wide. That's a 2" overhang but I don't feel it to be too much. Unless of course, you don't want to stress the sidewalls of the tire?

If at some point I went with a 12" wide dune tire for super floatation, I would probably get a better tire profile with a 10" wide rim as opposed to a 9" rim. Sand tires unlimited pointed this out. A 9" rim should work, but the sidewalls might buldge a bit and the tire profile could be a tiny bit rounded instead of flat. Also, if I decided to make a drag bike out of the DS, I might go with a lighweight extended swingarm and run 25x12x(9 or 10) tires.

Our rims are 10" from douglas. They are black label though. I would NEVER get anything less than .190!!! RED LABEL ONLY. We have bent three rims (including one stock rim)

Thats funny because mine came with red lable douglas rims. I peeled the red lable off my self. Are you sure.

One bit of info, I recently found out was that the DS manuel recommends 3-5 psi, but the people at douglas say 8-10. Any one else notice this.

Mine came with Red Lable wheels also, front and back. I even got two more with the paddles I got in the deal, 9x9's.

ITP has wheels for the DS650 too. In the latest issue of 4 Wheel ATV Action they have a picture and info on Skat-Trak paddle tires mounted on ITP 12" magnum wheels. I've seen this same set-up on Banshees and it looks hot. In fact, this tire and wheel combo won a paddle tire comparison in ATV Sport magazine.
