I just ordered a new one to replace the one my buddy bent, Are there any tips/secrets to installing these hassle free?

What do you think of the Jet Hot coating on your headers? I've been considering getting my stock DS headers coated. They wanted $100 per header to do the job. Was there any performace change or just a nice look? Supposedly the coating lowers operating temperature, though I thought the tests they showed on their website & info packet were somewhat biased.

 

Remove oil tank first.

 

I have only ridden my 400 with the new exhaust 1 trip but I like how they work. My friend's pants melted to it, but as I have ridden it seems to be evaporating gradually with no residue. They don't turn color and as far as lower operating temps I couldn't tell you. It must not be much because if you lower the exhaust temperature too much it would cause less backpressure therefore causing the motor to not run as well.
I'll try to find out where my friend took mine to get them done. He got me a deal, $30 for both headers. I don't know what the going rate is without the deal.
