runs good with the duals but im getting ready to switch it over to alky and thought it would be alot easier to switch one over instead of 2. (tuning etc. etc.) The meetering rods for these carbs are like $36.00 a piece. It can start adding up if you dont get it right the first couple of times.

I have actually dynoed a single 48mm against dual 40's. This was on a strong stage 3 engine, stock bore and stroke. The 48 made more power from idle all the way up. The duals got within 2hp up at the very top but never equaled the single 48. I would like see how your 733cc engine would react to the same dyno session. If I were you I would not worry about loosing much power going to the single carb. Duals seem to be best suited for very high rpm drag racing only. The single will definately make more torque down low. And as you say those needles hurt the wallet once you buy a few!

If you call kevin at fast by gast he will get you close enough on your 40's to make it worth keeping them. And you will need power jet kits for each carb and alcahol is very forgiving so you have a large area to work with on your jetting. And no way dose the 48MM work as good as two 40's on a 760 but you'll will have to decide on a 720 how they work.but i think you will like them!!! if you ask nicely i might tell you which metering rods i have in my dual 40mm lectrons
