One of my riding buddies has a ds with a graydon pipe, cdi, box jet kit running a 200 main and k&n. The quad runs great, he was wondering what else he can do to pick up some more power without going into the engine. Thanks for any input, look for ideas that relate to sand duning and sand dragging 300ft. He has 22-11-10 10 paddle extreme haulers and runs a 13 front sprocket and stock rear. Thanks for any help.

A different carb like a lectron 46mm HV, or a Mukuni HSR45 W/accelarator pump. You might wanna have your buddy talk to "MisterHorsepower". His name is Eric Oldham. I'm sure he will chime in here soon.

Well actually, Eric might not reply. I heard he's been busy making go fast goodies for the DS but may be someone has his phone # to get a hold of him??

Polarisfreak,

Non intrusive motor work:

1) Carb - TM45 or Lectron - Both work well if tuned right - The Lectron does slightly better.
2) Ported intake - RWR or MRHP - The later is much better.
2) Pipe - Get a Ron Wood Racing pipe or wait for the LTE (another month at least).
3) Pitch the airbox and go with a direct mount carb filter.

Intrusive motor work:

1) Cams - .425 lift from Web or RWR - dont forget the performance valve springs
2) Piston - 11.5:1 or 14:1 I've had both and love the 14:1

I was planning on doing piston and cams with port work ,and some mods to my existing carb ... but not change carbs ???
