maybe mines in the 4-5 range....but i def dont go full blast on it.... (i would end up on my back with 500 lbs of metal on top of me....)
you can drop it hammer down and dont wheelie?
either you have an INCREDIBLE amount of tirespin or mine has more power than most (highly doubt that...)
what tires do you run? if you run the stock kendas i can certainly see tire spin as an option (a friend of mine has an 00 ds with stock tires, and they BLOW) but i run the ohtsus which have more traction than anything....

I hold mine to the rev limiter and let it rip while racing! Slipping the clutch on the starts help tremendously but you better be good at it and get your weight BACK over the real wheels to get as much traction as possible without going skyward. I like to race on blacktop because on gravel all I do is spin like a **** so a 400ex could keep up with me in 300ft! On blacktop spinning isn't much of a problem so the power gets to the ground instead of throwing a roost untill 4th gear......

how is leaning BACK....therefore gaining MORE traction going to help LESSEN wheelies? lol
i already lean as FAR forward as i can without humping the gas tank or standing up.... and even at low rpms im shooting the front up...
lol just wanting to make sure we are on the same wavelength here

I know I know..... I'm just telling you guys what I do but I weigh 165 pounds and I really have problems getting traction compared to wheeying. But I think letting your quad rev higher before you start will help you out. (more wheel spin) So put it in second let it rev to the limiter and dump the clutch..... I highly doubt you'll wheely! lol.

ya, i dont know if i want to do second gear starts or not..... if it will hurt my time (current "time" being first gear starts fighting wheelies (most of the time i have to let off enuf for front end to drop) but second gear (unless i lowered it maybe a tooth on front?) would probably just do crappy on dirt? sand i think i could pull it off ok...since less friction.....but on dirt it seems like it would just lag....
you guys do second gear starts or no?

Yes go down a tooth. I did a dirt drag this year an I started in 2nd. Works great Got 3rd to a modded DS and a high modded EX It is faster
