DS stalls/dies occasionally....
occasionally (probably once or twice during a riding trip...) my ds will just die.... i think its usually at idle or really low throttle.... then the tach jumps to 10k (engine dosnt rev) and tach will stick.... i then cant start it until i turn key off, and back on....but then it starts/runs fine....
anyone know what it is?
also, i KNOW im running lean on idle circuit.... (i cant locate a new pilot jet...so for now im just like 3 1/4 turns out on fuel screw...) but i still get considerable black smoke upon start up (my discs and my grab bar have black soot on them....which would indicate rich condition...) any ideas?

well...i bought a dynojet kit.... and had it jetted for my mbrp pipe (with a 185 main) and i used the new dyno needle as well...
im now running a WB pipe with a 175 main (still messing with jetting a little bit...) needle at 2nd position from the TOP, stock pilot (im lean on the idle circuit, but cant find a pilot jet one size larger anywhere.....) so for now im at like 3 1/4 turns out on the fuel screw....
the main jet in there now came from my shop...so i dont know if its mikuni or not (im assuming it is...)
what is the difference between mikuni numbers and dyno numbers?

air box lid? tubes in or out?
For a given number, say #175, a dynojet jet is much smaller than a mikuni jet, thus less fuel flow.
You can tell a mikuni jet by the "R" and the Mikuni symbol on top which looks like a square with another small square in the lower left corner.
The dynojet is has a longer head and no symbols
