Well I was looking for facts and it looks like I am going to get them.
I am anxiously waiting the results as I am going to buy one of these carbs. So I guess there is a little more than just pride at stake.
I appreciate all the enthusiasm and work everyone is putting in to improve the DS for all of us. Good luck guys and let the games begin!

Great topic, Cammer. This is one of the many things that I have been trying to decide to mod my bike with. Now if we can get someone to do a shootout between bore kits and suspension I would be all set.

being one jet off on a TM can make a significant difference. last summer at Sand Mountain Utah on the steeper part known as the face I was running slightly rich due to 5K altitude, and my bike could not make it up in 3rd - always bogged down to the point of having to downshift to 2nd. Taking advice from Majorecho I dropped down one main jet size from where I thought I belonged at the time and then the bike could easily overtake it in 3rd all the way. one main jet got me another gear. yeah I was on the threshold of making in 3rd while rich, but proper jetting took it over that edge. since then I've learned how to be spot on wherever I go, a very simple method of main jet tuning can be applied to put this carb right where it belongs without ever pulling a plug or messing with a million trial and errors.

well, shucks, its the end of the day and I was unable to get a replacement tech for me to be able to take tomorrow off work - I'm gonna miss all the fun, bummer
But I'll meet you all eventually, the duners at least.
Walden and Killpecker this summer, Glamis in feb. 2005, any chance being there then AZ?

Billsner,
I am not sure how we can get it there in less than 24 hours w/o a shipping address. But I am game to pick up half the tab!
