Default Oil Filter Search...

I visited all local quad shops, and no one had a filter for a ds in stock, no big deal but I figued the dealer that sells them here would have at least 1 in stock. But they didnt, so I called the dealer I got it from which is 2 hours away and had one sent. My question is I noticed when I got ready to change my oil that the filter had champion marked on it. I tried 3 different local auto parts suppliers, and they cant cross reference the filter back to champion, has anyone else tried to find the part # for the oil filter?

the last time I ordered filters from rockymountain. they sent me the short ones. I called them and they said they do not have the one for my 02. why they went ahead and sent the wrong ones I dont know. I have had the same issue finding filters. I found them at a local honda shop that does not sell bombardier. go figure.

my dealer gave me the same type, bombardier box with champion stamped on them. who knows, just be sure that you know if you have the long or short filter when ordering anywhere. my 00 takes the short, but they changed halfway through 00 so its always a challange ordering anywhere. and, if you find a dealer with the right filter in stock, buy all of his stock, trust me, its a real headache saver!!!

Gearsmoker,

You should buy the longer filter cover so that you can use the longer filters. That is the easiest upgrade you'll ever do, and who can complain about better oil filtration?

Might want to give the Scotts stainless lifetime filter a thought.
