Default 2 stroke!!!!!!!!!!!

I talked to one of the owners of simonar servise ( the largest ski-doo dealer in the US) witch is about 30 mins from were I live. I ask him about a 2 stroke bomb and he said he has heard the rumor. But can't confirm it, But he will let me know in 2 weeks I will keep you posted.
He also said that rotax already has 2 strokes that will meet the 2006 emissions.

Alot of the bombardier atvs are already 2 stroke. I wouldnt get your hopes up for a sport 2stroke until you see it, (ie; 650ex, new shee). Alot of talk and no truth to them yet!!!

only some of the minis are 2stroke, and i can't say i'm surprised that they are able to meet the 2006 emissions, they have a motor in the revs, the 600 HO SDI motor, suppose to reduce emissions by 35% and increase fuel economy by 25% i think

If Honda builds a 650ex, it will not be a 2 stroke. I don't think Yamaha will make a "new" Banshee. If they do, it will be like the "new" Blaster and "Raptor 350" Warrior- same old quad, new plastics and minor changes.

I think of all the companies that *might* try to roll out a performance 2 stroke, it would be Bombardier. I'm not holding my breath, though.

If Yamaha stops making the Banshee, two-stroke sport quads will die. I think Bombardier actually needs Yamaha to validify the two-stroke technology. I know this sounds a little twisted but, like it or not. . . Yamaha IS the market leader in sport ATV's and if they don't make a two-stroke the two-stroke market will disappear. The future (for now) is four-stroke and Bombardier should be more focused on a 450cc Class Four Stroke than ANY two-stroke ATV.

I agree with DuneMe. I think with all the advances in 4 stroke technology and the growing green influences will cause 2 strokes to be history in the next couple of years. After riding the new Yam YFZ 450 I think Bomb might be best to stay where it is at. I don't think they can make a machine that will be significant enough to overcome the brand name recognition that Yam and Honda enjoy. It just won't sell. The DS 650 is popular because it was and still is one of a kind. No other big bore 4 strokes existed then and now it still the only machine that is comfortable for the oversize rider.

You forget about the advances in 2-stroke technology. With direct injection, a 2 stroke will give a 4 stroke a run for it's money when it comes to emissions. I don't know all of the details. I still think 2 strokes are doomed because of the knowledge that environmental groups have about them already.
The way modern 4 strokes are running, I don't think 2 strokes will be missed that much.
