Default Reverse limiter

Finally got the new bomb traxter out for long hard ride here in the Laurel Highlands. The Trax was shaping up to be all I wanted in My new ATV. When I slided sideways in to a rut covered by drifted snow. The low floor boards got high centered. After alot of jousling around I started to get it to start out backwards in first and nailing the throttle. The reverse limiter kept kicking in and stalling the engin. I thought I read that this happens at 15 mph even though ofcourse the bomb was going slow. But still going. I also thought I read a post here for temporeally turning off the reverse limiter. Can that be done? I may someday in summer need get out of goo and need to temp. disable limiter again.
Also, just once and a while on turns of some speed (but not always) it would slide out from me. Could more experinced snow riders tell me if I should dial up the shocks or lower tire presure or both when snow riding. I should tell you I 300 lbs. Please no wise cracks about going on diet to cure problem please. Thankyou

Im not that familiar with the Traxter, but other quads with a reverse rev limiter are keyed off of the RPM on the CDI. There is no way I know of to modify an existing CDI to change the REV limit - Fwd or Rev.

Com on any more Ideas, maybe I can set the rpms higher in the CDI? Although I don't have a clue to what it is or how it works.

Default Reverse limiter

Natron 1 I set up a switch in line with my reverse rev limiter. Need revs, flick switch and no limit backing up. The reverse/neutral lights flash so when done, flick switch again, shut down, start up and lights are off again. Down by the linkage side of the tranny there's some wires, run a switch in line with the purple/white wire, works great. Did this to the wife's machine today, no problems. No more backfiring, full power when you need it.

The credit goes to hoseclamp on this one, the Doctor just looked it up for you. Now you can race any ATV and beat them in reverse!!!!
