How to make your Rear slide on command??

Was wondering how people slide through turns or just gas it to slide?....I have been trying to just floor it in a turn and lean hard but I can not seem to slide very often.....Do I have to Rev the motor and pop the clutch or do I have to be in a high rpm range before I floor it ......Any tips is greatly appreciated.....

You just need to be on a proper gear, even at that there shouldn't be a problem. You should be able to drop out of the powerband and jump right back in by stabbing the gas. I have never EVER used the clutch to whip around a corner from 1st to 3rd gear. And I've never attempted a 4th gear powerslide...
Are you a big fella? What tires are you using?

I understand what your saying but say I'm approaching a turn at 25-3500 rpm in 2nd....What do I need to do to power slide....Drop a gear to get higher RPM's or go up a gear and floor it.......I was thinking if I went up a gear and floored it it would bog because the rpm's would be lower?

Stand up and use body english to slide the quad around. I can't powerslide on concrete unless I dump the clutch, but on the hard pack track that I ride just throttle and body moves are all it takes. On some difficult slow speed turn I will bump the clutch with full throttle and the end will come right around. Just make sure you are not on the back of the seat when you try this because you will end up off of the quad.

You've got a Baja so use the extra 'lips' that are built into your footpegs. Lodge your foot into that and use it to help slide thing around. The more tire spin you have the easier it would be. The whole idea is that you're breaking the grip the tires have loose, and causing it to slide then you want to make sure they get traction back as soon as you're done turning so that you don't turn too far or too sharp - either one of those could be bad. If you're are 2500 - 3500 RPM you'll want to bump it way up as well. If you're not getting the results you want, you should try it in a large open area, preferably with a loose surface so that you aren't risking anything if you don't get it to work right the first couple of times you try it.

Dragorus is exactly right. The most important thing in flattrack racing is your rear brakes. All it takes is a QUICK JAB at the rear brakes to make the rear end slide. After using this in flattracking, I have started using in while trail riding and the results have been great. The beauty of this is you can already be starting back on the gas and jab the rear brake as you open the throttle.
Your front end can be made to slide by applying the front brake also. And another tip, use your rear brake to control wheelieing. It works great as we holeshot. Just keep a little pressure on it and increase pressure as the front raises.

POWERsliding is done at relatively higher speeds around long wide corner. you come into the corner at high speeds an let off the gas,and let your body position take the quads momentium and turn it slightly then hammer the throttle and use your body position to hook up traction as you need it.
On a track, Alky burninX has the ticket, the front/rear brakes(along with the clutch) is usually the fastest way around a tight corner. This is a totally different manuver.
NOTE: you really need to know YOU and YOUR QUADS limitations when it comes to these manuvers(sp) you could really get hurt if you go ***** out into a corner. Experience is the best teacher, but always have your riding GEAR on when practicing!!!!

I just **** my body to the side and and a little front and then give some gas an it goes and guys ive pulled powerslides in 4th and 5th you need nice wide area to do this and some speed but it works every time.
This bikes have enough power to get those tires spinning thats the key to slides.... a slide is literally a form of controlled chaos.
Where as you are lossing control and keeping control of the out of controll rear end.
One thing though as I said depending on the terrain you are doing this on standing up is a good way to roll....ask me how i know this
I usually gring my body to the opposite side of the slide direction lower and slightly forward as to give you some stabilty and to alow the rear to get loose. If you notice most quad racer do the same thing in a big slide ....
Also the way you use your handle bars is key. Turning them hard and fast will also help intiate the slide...im not saying that you have to come hard right or hard left you just give a quick turn and walla...ive never used my rear brake thought it sounds good in theory...im gonna try it out
Just my 2 cents
