Default wreck at florence saturday

some dude on a banshee flipped it pretty bad saturday at florence. we came across him just laying there with two very little kids standing by him crying. looked like he had a broken nose and maybe dislocated arm or broke. we hauled a** to goose pasture were his crew was. then led the ambulance out to him. hope he is ok. anybody else know him?
on a lighter note. had my first run with the lectron carb. at first I was disapointed. I was running about the same as before next to my freind who rides a banshee. after a few drags I started to notice that I could let off the throttle a little in fourth gear at 7000 plus and the quad would not slow down with the engine rpm's. its hard to feel it in the lower gears. just kinda felt like I could not spin up the tires as usual. so I was thinking that I needed one more tooth down on primary drive until the fourth gear slipping. clutch time. I guess the extra hp finished off my clutch. so I did not get to feel the real deal. o'well, maybe next time. I am going give garnett a try and switch to klotz oil as recomended.
I did not see very many ds650's at florence on saturday. just a couple of yellow one's with riders in yellow gear.and one red one with a big boy on it. was that any of you guys?

I was there today (Sunday). I was in Winchester bay during the heavy rain on Saturday. It was very good riding today!

One of the people in our group had a 440EX, and she beat a new Honda 450 with the power up kit! No joking!

klotz mx4 15w50 and honda hp4 oil do not maintain viscosity, and oil pressure drops to extremely low levels when oil is up to temperature.

there's no best oil, everyone has their own preferences.

i prefer full synthetic wet clutch specific oil. i currently use mobil 1 full synthetic 20W50 v-twin oil (JASO MA rated), cheapest at walmart. but, i need to run a thicker oil due to some alcohol getting past the rings. i need an oil that will maintain viscosity at temperature since i'm stressing the motor to the max. i prefer an oil that protects the motor as much as possible as opposed to "higher performance" oils that allow faster reving with reduced protection.

I had a similar expirience w/my ds it had just a handful of hours on it when I put my mrhp Lectron, ported intake, and endcap. I took it out to test ride it. The clutches couldnt hold it in 3rd gear, and up. Put new heavier springs in it, and it does perfect now.

just the springs? you did not have to replace clutch plates? I was thinking mine is 2 years old now and I should do everything while I am in there. anything on the water pump or other stuff I should now about?
