Look for and buy yourself a goos 400ex. the quad is light, relaible, easy to maintain, and part are pretty cheap. They jump exellent, and have potential to match any level of rider. you should be able to get a used one for around 3000 when your ready.

The DS650 is to big for what you are wanting to "learn" on.

Bigger.

I say what sandman says because the DS is heavy although it is a very good reliable quad but for what u are wanting to do the 400ex would be the best. If you wrecked on the bomb and it landed on u it could be very bad news for u.

I own several ATVs and the DS is not good (in my opinion) for what you're wanting to do. You really should consider a 400EX but don't they make you wait until your 16 to race?

Guys...guys...guys...what are you thinkin'?! HoNdA4LiFe, if you seriously want to race, you simply MUST cough up the extra dough and go with the Yamaha YFZ 450. That's what everybody else will be riding, so unless you enjoy LOSING, and I mean LOSING BIG, get the machine that's built for racing. Everything else pales in comparison when it comes to motocross.

If I where you I would go with the yfz also. But unless you plan on changing your screen name ya better stick with the 400ex or get 2 jobs and cough up the duckets for the 450r.

If I'm not mistaken, Honda also has a new 450 racing machine out. You might want to look at that one as well. It is supposed to be very comparable to the new YZF450 and you could still keep your screen name! I would echo Bigger and Sandman's sentiments though about getting too much quad for your ability (I know this is not what a 15 year old want's to hear, but bear with me, I'm a father). The 400EX is a great machine and can be very competitive. Good luck with your upcoming purchase.

Mike
