Piston&octane?

Default Piston&octane?

Can you run 93octane fuel with a 12:5:1 compression piston. Thanks

You can, just not for long....get yourself some 100+ octane fuel![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

should run....but not near as good as with 100+

Just having a hard time trying to find race gas 105 octane. Only other choice is avgas but that stuff burns to dry and it will screw up the engine.

You'll have a harder time finding and installing a new piston.

Only other choice is avgas but that stuff burns to dry and it will screw up the engine.
I really don't know what burning dry means. Burned avgas in everything from lawn mowers to nitrous big blocks. Never had a problem. Some fuels have a different combination of long chain hydrocarbons, but that goes for all fuels, not just avgas. You have to jet right for the fuel you are using and conditions you are in though.

Already got the piston in and found some race gas so i am set to go. Thanks for the help everyone Lance
