Default Thinking bout getting a DS need some feedback

I'd say like 170-ish plus S&H - I have the original shipping box for it still as well! (I've been thinking about eBaying it - but haven't had the desire to take it off yet. If your seriously interested I can snap some photos of it.

Sounds like you've got a pretty nice Ford to drag your toys around with. I bought my F150 about a year before I got my first ATV & thought I'd never need 4wd. Now that I've got ATVs I've realized that 4WD would be nice to get through some of the more 'sandy' areas I've been to. Oh well, I hope those 2008 F350s are nice!

You being in Iowa, you should hook up with a guy on here who goes by BajaIowa - judging by what he's told us and the pictures he's posted he gets some serious air off of jumps - it's gotta be a great sight to see!

Welcome to the DS650 family as well - everyone who owns a DS seems to be just a little more friendly than the rest of the gang.

Default Thinking bout getting a DS need some feedback

Any of you people know where there are some good DS videos? Specifically a stock DS against a stock 400cc class quad??? Just to get an idea of how much faster they are????

What is the average life span of the clutch plates on the DS?

Thanks again.

The DS STOMPS stock class 400cc quads. The 450s are different (not sure by how much, never raced one.) But anything 400 class I've never seen one stock or modified that was really comparable. I remember one night at Dumont there were 5 400EXs lined up and they took off up the hill, I took off after them passed them quite rapidly & was on my way back down before they got to the top.

The life span of the clutch plates - that depends more on your driving more than anything. my 2001 DS650 which I've had since February 2001 still has the stock plates etc after 120 hours.

I'm not sure I've seen many DS650 videos - certainly none with 400ex vs. DS. You'll usually only see Raptor vs. DS etc if it's a drag racing video.

Yeah, I've seen the picture of that truck before - It looks very nice. I'm hoping the 2005 Super Duty redesign is good I figure I've got three years to get used to it if I don't fall in love with the look at first. Though with as good as the 98 - 04s look, I don't think there will be much to complain about. I'm not sure it'll look quite like yours, but the idea is the same - lift it a little, get some bigger tires, you know the fun stuff. So what kind work do you have done to your truck?

That is one way to make myself popular, huh? I forget who it was that had it first - it was a while ago and I always loved seeing that person post, so I copied the avatar. Then who ever it was dropped out of sight and since it's been six months or a year I figure I'll carry the burdon of taking care of the bouncing girl. It's kinda like the man show where they have the girls on trampolines...

Blackawk, that pipe loks o.k.? You said 170ish, not out of line, if you reallyserious take apicture or two, I'm interested, also, what other mods can a guy get into without spending big coin. I was thing pipe and airbox mods, air filter[k+n or uni] jets of course, beyond that I don,t know what works on these motors.
